First Gun Safety Conversation a Success

Thank you to Sheriff Welsh and Mayor Comitta!

On the evening of September 8, 2014 , the Chester County League had a wonderful opportunity to provide Kendal residents with a platform for an informational, educational and civilized discussion of Gun Safety in Chester County. Dynamic panelists Sheriff Carolyn Welsh and Mayor Carolyn Comitta, moderated by Susan Carty, discussed their roles in public office in the county. A question and answer session focusing on gun laws in Pennsylvania was followed by a “call to action” regarding pending legislation designed to promote a hotline safety number for students, parents, school districts and individuals across Pennsylvania. HB 1801 , currently has been re-referred to Appropriations on September 24, 2014 . State Representative Margo Davidson from Delaware County was the original sponsor of this bill. History of this bill can be found at the following link: http://www.legis.state.pa.us/cfdocs/billInfo/bill_history.cfm?syear=2013&sind=0&body=H&type=B&bn=180
