The LWVUS Agriculture Update Committee continues its study of the complex issues in today’s food and farming policies, with plans to complete the study in early fall. In the meantime, the local Agriculture Committee will be meeting in September to continue discussion about ways to advocate for farmers and healthy food. The national Farm Bill will also be a point of attention as Congress reconvenes.
The committee has joined the Fund-Raising Committee to plan two events featuring food and farming. A Holiday Wine and Cheese Event will take place on November 22, and a tour of local farms will be planned for late September, 2014.
