We had 5 attendees at July’s meeting when we considered the possibility of a public meeting, using the League of Women Voters Concord-Amherst-Sudbury, MA, power point/slide presentation that was sent to us by this league, that did a study on the topic of Campaign Finance related to how money is affecting our current election.
Also, we took a quick look at the actual copy and an overview of the Supreme Court case of Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission which we will look at more closely at the August meeting.
We discussed the timing of the August meeting, but it remains that the 4th Thursday of the month 10 to 12 noon is best. However, if there’s a reason to review it again, we will do so.
A copy of the overview of the U.S. Supreme Court Case and the Massachusetts Power Point Presentation will be available to attendees at the August meeting. If you’d like a copy ahead of this meeting, give Jean a call at 484-879-4024.
