“Tell me a fact and I’ll learn. Tell me a truth and I’ll believe. But tell me a story and it will live in my heart forever.” Native American proverb
We have celebrated the Harvest and the Holidays draw near. No better time of year to share the stories behind our own celebration traditions. Ancestral traditions, spiritual traditions, gifting traditions, feasting traditions and even League traditions! Our stories are gifts that bind us together. Our stories tell our long history, our “never give up” attitude and our willingness to give voice to those that have none.
Our members’ combined stories about: Why they joined, What they have done, What they have learned and What they hope to become, all give meaning, value and tribute to the League. We are proud of every short story to novel!
But remember that while we write our own, there are others whose stories wait to be told. The stories unfold in rapid fire pace, in Chester County, Harrisburg, Washington, D.C., and across the globe.
Stories of healthcare reform, education reform, voting reform, global warming threat, natural gas extraction pollution, filibusters, China, Iran ,Syria ,Immigration legislation, Trust, Truth…Whew!!
Our work is never done. Our stories will never end.
Give us the gift of your story. We promise to care deeply. We’ll nurture it. We’ll respect it.
BE SAFE THIS HOLIDAY SEASON! BE GENEROUS $$ SAVOUR YOUR STORIES!
